Our Guest speaker is Kees Cusveller of Graham Construction & Engineering Ltd. in Calgary.

Kees is of Dutch origin and moved to Canada over 35 years ago,
at this moment he is Branch manager with Graham Construction and in that
function involved with numerous projects in the City of Calgary.

Kees will talk about the current projects in the City, supported by a
visual presentation of the Elbow/Glenmore project.

Opportunities and challenges for the Oil & Gas Industry in Western Canada


Real Resources Inc.

Our Guest speaker is Lowell Jackson President and CEO of Real Resources Inc.

 

Lowell was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan and was raised on a farm in the area.  He attended the University of Saskatchewan and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction in 1973.

He started his career in the oil and natural gas industry in 1973 with Atlantic Richfield Company working out of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Returning to Calgary he has worked for a number of independent producers including Mesa Petroleum, Pan Cana Resources, Geocrude Energy, Canada Northwest Energy and Grad and Walker Energy.  For the past nine years Lowell has been President & Chief Executive Officer of Real Resources Inc.  Real is a Toronto Stock Exchange listed Company having a market capitalization of about 900 million dollars.

Lowell has experience in the engineering, operations and exploration aspects of the oil and natural gas business.  He has worked on projects in North America, South America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Lowell is a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, Canadian Intensive Care Foundation and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.

Labour Shortage Impacts Stellar Growth

Heather Douglas was appointed to the position of President and CEO of The Calgary Chamber of Commerce as of October 1, 2005.

Prior to joining The Chamber, Heather Douglas was the Founder and President of Strategic Public Affairs (SPA), a worldwide combination of external and internal affairs and communications professionals. She has more than 20 years experience in journalism and public affairs, has directed media, government, and shareholder relations, crisis communications, and image and reputation management for three major Canadian companies (one a Fortune 500 affiliate).

Douglas has co-authored two books and has spoken at numerous seminars and conferences. Her topics range from energy and communications to negotiation strategies. Douglas is currently working toward her doctorate in political science.

At our monthly DCBC meeting, she will talk about Alberta’s Labour Shortage.

Please be there in time and don’t forget to take some extra travel time because of parking downtown.
