A presentation by Peter Paauw  Investment Manager, responsible for raising capital with Unity Investments Inc. controlled by Unity Builders Group, a real estate management company formed in 1998 that oversees a number of homebuilder companies with annual construction volume of approximately $250 million (over 1,000 houses annually). During the presentation Peter will focus on the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Development Project. This promises to be an interesting dinner meeting, please register on time.

Walcheren Ceremony

On Wednesday Evening October 26, 2005 the liberation of Walcheren (the Netherlands) will be commemorated by the Calgary Highlanders and the Dutch Community at the Mewata Armoury.

 

Irene Bakker Hon. Consul of the Netherlands will  be inspecting the troops and will hand commemoration pins to the Canadian liberators for the 60 anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands.

ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships

 

On March 18th and 19th, just 3 weeks after the Olympic Winter Games, Calgary will host the ISU World Allround Speed Skating Championships.  This competition is a long-track speed skating event that consists of 500m, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m races for the ladies, and 500m, 1500m, 5000m and 10000m races for the men.  All skaters race in all distances, which make this competition a true exhibition of strength, endurance and athletic excellence.  The world’s top skaters will be competing, including several recent Olympians, at this final competition of the 2005-2006 season. Come and cheer on your favourite skaters.

Tickets are $20/day for Adults, $15/day for Students/Seniors, Children 10 and under are free.  Group discount of 15% available on 20+ tickets purchased/day.  Buy One Get One for $10 coupons are available.
