HAWC Luncheon

We have invited guest speaker Sergeant Mike Ter Kuile to give us an in depth presentation on the HAWC1 and the Air Services Unit of the Calgary Police Service. No doubt are we all aware of the presence of the helicopter over our city, involved in a variety of activities to enhance safety and well being of the public. This is a unique opportunity to get information on this branch of the Calgary Police Service. Luncheon with guest speaker Peter Paauw

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort

 

A presentation by Peter Paauw  Investment Manager, responsible for raising capital with Unity Investments Inc. controlled by Unity Builders Group, a real estate management company formed in 1998 that oversees a number of homebuilder companies with annual construction volume of approximately $250 million (over 1,000 houses annually). During the presentation Peter will focus on the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Development Project. This promises to be an interesting lunch meeting, please register on time.

Walcheren Ceremony

This year the Walcheren ceremony will have a special significance. This will be the 60th anniversary of the commemoration. Reception at 1:00 pm. At 2:00 pm the ceremony will commence. We hope to see you all there.

Railway Presentation

We have invited one of our DCBC members as a guest speaker to talk about the operation of railways. Eric Wicherts is a railway enthusiast, and member of the American Association of Railroad Superintendents. He has also published a book about the Surinam Railway.  A short introduction about the types of railways is followed by what railways do and a small business section. Next we take a virtual trip in a locomotive cab. A small display of items will be made as well. This will be an interesting event.

We have live music entertainment from the Hal Redekop music ensemble. Hal Redekop will entertain us with his great variety of music. New Years "Borrel"

"An Oilman's Significant Memories and Adventures"

A presentation by George Milne. We have invited George Milne, one of our distinguished members to share his memories and adventures gathered over the many years he has worked overseas and in Canada. I had the privilege to read an address from him made in early 2003, and it is truly remarkable the wealth of experience and stories George has gathered over the years. We look forward to see George, and welcome him with a great attendance. Early registration is as usual appreciated.

ING World Championship Speed Skating Marathon

The Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary is proud to host the 2005 ING World Championship Speed Skating Marathon on February, 22 starting at 6:00 pm.
The top marathon skaters from Holland will be taking part in this prestigious event on the fastest ice in the world and then heading to Sylvan Lake for the Spitz Natural Ice Marathon. The Olympic Oval has partnered with ING Insurance to celebrate "Holland Day" during this event. Over 200 guests from Holland are expected to visit our city during the event and we would like to invite the Calgary Dutch Community to join us at the Olympic Oval for the excitement. This is a free event to attend and we ask everyone to wear orange to celebrate Holland Day! Special Dinner Presentation:

Title: Policy Developments in the EU and The Netherlands.

For this special presentation Irene Bakker has invited Mr. Wim Tacken the agricultural affairs attaché at the Dutch Embassy in Washington, D.C. Mr Tacken is attending the International Food Symposium in Calgary, and has made this time slot available to address the DCBC members.

For this event we have booked the McMurray Room, where a delicious dinner will be served. It is important to register for this event at your earliest convenience to make the required arrangements with the CPC.

This event is open to members and guests.
